Why sites somtimes look odd in IE 6?

IE6 is 10 years old, it has terrible support for CSS and transparency, and there are numerous security issues that Microsoft will never fix. The fact is, only about 2% of people that visit this site are using IE6. We need to draw the line somewhere. IE6 is a relic, and there's just no excuse for using it. Version 7 has been out for some time now, and IE8 was just released. With each update, security becomes tighter and support for the languages web designers and developers use becomes better. So why not upgrade? If you are still using IE 6 , then you should upgrade to IE8 or better yet, use Firefox or Safari. It comes down to this: encouraging visitors to upgrade their browser, which takes only a few minutes and is FREE, or spend many extra hours making sites work in IE6.
